Conventional power supply limit the output voltage range relative to the input voltage range due to boost or step-down circuitry. There is the restriction that the input voltage must be “higher” or “lower” than the output voltage. Therefore, depending on the output voltage, the input voltage range is limited further. Although there are the isolated DC-DC converters supporting a wide input voltage, they are large and expensive.
The BUD series uses boost and step-down circuitry. Therefore, much wider input/output voltage ranges is achieved. Stable output voltage can be supplied even from a battery or an unregulated power supply.

Wide input/output voltage range equivalent to 8 units of Isolated power supply

As the BUD series itself is low noise, not required to insert a noise-reducing device such as an LDO (3-pin regulator) for analog circuits.

Lower ripple noise reduce influence to analog circuits.
(1) Supports unstable power sources such as batteries.
No need to use expensive and large isolated converters to support high or low input voltage range.
(2) Two outputs, plus and minus
No need to use two power supplies.
(3) Very low ripple noise
No need to insert a noise-reducing device such as an LDO (3-pinl regulator) for analog circuits.

The switching mode is changed to Skip mode (intermittent switching) at light load to reduce power dissipation.

The BUD Series can maintain the efficiency even at light loads which general isolated DC-DC cannot.
