There are many situations where isolated output +/- DC-DC converters are used.
The highly used +/-5V, +/-12V, and +/-15V are lined up by many manufacturers and are readily available.
Also, if it is an isolated type, it is possible to make a -output by connecting the Vout(+) terminal of a single output converter to Common, and configure a +/- output power supply with two single output converters.

In situations where isolation is not required, it may be possible to use a non-isolated converter to configure the system.
“Buck” and “inverting” converters are used as the + and – side power supplies respectively.
However, in this case, two converters are always required, so even if non-isolated is chosen, it may not be advantageous in terms of cost and mounting area.
